Battle of the Climbing Ivy, Baby Shower, and More...

It's been a productive spring so far. We've been working on a number of projects, one of which was to make our garage more presentable. It was covered in ivy when we bought the house, and the ivy was taking over. I mean, it was growing on the inside of the garage, too, there was so much of the dang stuff. Ooh, ugly ivy.

So, last summer I picked a particularly hot and nasty day, and I started ripping down ivy, mainly just because it pissed me off more than usual that day. :-) Aaron got home and jumped in to the ivy-tearing-down fest. Then we had one hell of an ugly garage to look at for the rest of that summer. Whoops.

So. the other weekend, Aaron painted the garage and hung three lattice panels. We planted five climbing rose bushes (which you can't really see in the picture, but they're there), and two potted containers. Death to ivy.

We had a great time over the Memorial Day long weekend... we drove to Cincinnati, and Aaron was in Mike & Ashley's wedding - it was great to see everyone, and it was a really fun wedding. Then, the next day all my aunts and cousins threw a baby shower for me!!! :-) The baby shower was wonderful; Aunt Marianne hosted it at her house, and it was beautiful. The weather was spectacular, it was great to get to see everyone, and Aaron and I had a carload of beautiful gifts to deck out Cecilia's (that's going to be her name, BTW) new little room. Speaking of the nursery, that has been something else we've worked on this spring. Here it it before we got all the lovely presents (I need to take some new pictures after I get it organized and set up):
