Ceci making her first drawing. :-)

She was VERY serious about this undertaking, and very intense. Oddly enough, she was also very deliberate as to which colors she wanted me to hand her. It was pretty funny. :-) The finished version of her lovely masterpiece is proudly displayed on our fridge.

Is it spring yet?

It has been a crazy week. Ceci had a stomach bug that was short-lived (but quite ferocious), on Monday. I picked her up mid-morning from daycare, and survived my first Ceci-getting-sick-in-the-car experience... it seemed a little like a rite of passage. Albeit, a very messy one, and one that I probably could have lived without, but a rite of passage nonetheless. She had to have been feeling absolutely awful that day, but she was so sweet. I knew that she was feeling crummy (aside from the obvious symptoms) when she crawled in my lap and sat there for an entire hour playing with a tic-tac box while we watched some crappy B-movies. She usually can't sit still for more than 5 seconds, so an hour was a little alarming.

I managed to slip on the hardwood stairs toward the tail end of last week while wearing extra slippery wool socks, and really did a number on myself. So, I have been all sorts of sore in the meantime. I figured I was fine, initially. On Monday, though, while Ceci was pretty sick herself, my left leg went from sore to excrutiating. So, we went to the ER and had it x-rayed that evening. Thankfully I didn't break or chip it, so that was good news. I had been thinking about how it felt distinctly like bone chips trying to work their way out of my lower leg all day, and having the x-ray done made me feel a lot better. My shin does look pretty impressive, though. ;-) As an aside, there's nothing like going to the ER covered in bruises with your husband and baby daughter, and explaining that I "fell down the stairs." I felt obligated to highlight my generally uncoordinated and klutzy nature to make it sound believeable! Oh well, I guess there's a lot to be said for still having some bounce left in my bone structure.

Yukking it up.
