Well, it may be snowy and cold out again today, but last weekend was welcome reprieve. Here are some shots of Ceci horsin' around in the backyard in last weekend's nice weather.

Lazy Sunday morning

Things have been going smoothly lately... we're well settled into the post-Christmas, spring semester normal routine, and our biggest challenge has seemed to be surviving the crazy winter we're having in Lawrence. We're seeing more snow this year than we have since moving here 5 years ago -- which is fun, but also a complete schedule-destroyer. It has also been brutally cold this year. We've had two or three mornings this month in which the actual mercury reading was -12 or -13F. That's a COLD kind of cold. Despite the freezing temps, Ceci has had fun exploring and trying new things this season: sledding, building snowmen, throwing snowballs, and yes, eating lots of snow.

Ceci seems to be getting bigger by the day. Aaron and I were looking at photos from Christmas this morning, and we both immediately realized that she is already noticeably older looking than she was two months ago. It's amazing to me how quickly she's learning and growing... a month ago, she couldn't count at all, and today, she's counting to ten on her own. She's very into "imaginative" play these days, too, and it it SO fun watching her pretend to be a puppy, a mommy, a fairy, an airplane, and a chicken all in a 15 minute period. :-) She is truly full of joy, thoughts, and curiosity these days!
